Victor Cox enjoyed a great debut season with Blackhorse Kawasaki in 2010.
Drafted in to
replace the injured Conor Cummins, Victor quickly got down to business and rode superbly on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, eventually finishing eighth in the championship despite only joining the team halfway through the season.
2011 once again sees Victor in Blackhorse Kawasaki colours in the BSB Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship and you can follow his progress as he brings us a unique look at his season through the eyes of ...... 'Victor's View'.

Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship
Round 7 - Oulton Park
"Well what I thought was supposed to be a very wet weekend from the start, somehow managed to stay dry until race day where it did seriously rain! From the start of the weekend we showed good pace straight away, 3rd in the first session then in Top 5 in every other qualifying, and 3rd again for the race and another front row start which I was happy with.
For race day the weather had turned bad and it was time for us to get wet - very wet!
As we didn't get a warm up on the morning of the race we didn't get any wet track time up until the point of the race so it was just a matter of putting a setting in the bike and running with it. We had 2 warm up laps before we lined up on the grid to get a feel for the wet conditions.
I had an ok start going into 4th then coming out of Shell Hairpin I had got by Palmer and was now up into 3rd. Jenkinson and Mainwaring broke away but I knew it was going to be a long race and didn't want to do anything stupid with the grip not being great at all.
Going on to the second lap Mainwaring crashed going into the first corner as he touched the brakes, now I was in second and getting a good feel for the bike and building on my pace. Jenkinson had a gap on me then there was a little gap to Buchan then about a 4 second gap to Mc Guinness in 4th.
The conditions were really not great with the track seeming to be quite slippery, I had a couple of moments where my feet were off the pegs so I just wanted to bring her home on the podium.
On the 5th lap Buchan had crashed going into the first corner whilst behind me in 3rd which brought out the red flags towards the end of the 5th lap just under half way distance which meant a restart. After waiting in the pits for about 10 mins they had called it a result meaning we had our first podium of the year in 2nd position. :)!
It was a great feeling being up there and now I've had the taste of the podium that's where we need to be every weekend. The team have worked so hard and really deserve it, especially after being so close at Snetterton.
I can't thank the team enough for everything and hopefully I can repay them with a few more results like that in these last 5 races.
BIG thanks again to all my sponsors and every one that supports me.
See you all at Brands Hatch
